Call for N8 Club attendees to come forward to curb the ‘February 20 Community Incident’

The Ministry of Health and Phnom Penh Municipality have called on everyone who entered N8 Club in the capital between February 4 and 19, as well as those who came into direct contact with the “February 20 Community Incident”, to undergo 14-day quarantine and go for a COVID-19 test at Chak Angre Health Centre.

Ministry of Health secretary of state Youk Sambath said that all citizens involved in the “February 20 Community Incident”, as well as those in connection with N8 Club, should hurry to get a health check and have their sample taken at Chak Angre Health Centre, followed by mandatory quarantine for 14 days.

“Do so in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the Phnom Penh community,” she said.

Earlier today, Prime Minister HE announced the third COVID-19 community outbreak, dubbing it the “February 20 Community Incident”.

He said the community infection has been traced to have begun in N8 Club, near the Olympic Stadium. He confirmed that in just over 10 hours, the Ministry of Health found large-scale transmission of COVID-19 in the community, with 32 cases, an unprecedented case in Cambodia.

At home? We know that doesn't really work.

In a hotel and at the full costs of $2000? That won't get them to turn themselves in. The government are going to have to stump up the cash for these enforced quarantines.

At the end of the day it's not their fault. If you happen to be Chinese and went along to that club, you are an innocent party in all this. If they want people to turn themselves in for testing and 14 days in lock-up, it really shouldn't come with a $2000 bill.

If an outbreak was traced back to one of the bars or restaurants on riverside that I go to, I would be very loathe to fess up and pay $2000 for 2 weeks in a shitty hotel.

We been told we wont be able to leave apartment for 2 weeks, so probably at home. Can go in, but not out. Police outside working with house guards. Why would it not work? Only one entrance just as a hotel.

Will see when result come tomorrow. Been swabbed today.

We dont choose this to enter the country like someone doing the quaranteen you are thinking about so ofc we cant be expected to pay for it. What they gonna do if we cant pay?

The wife and kids flew back to Korea in October, even contemplating to stay there and enter schools. But after New Year they decided to return and went through all the quarantine hassle. Just got out a couple of weeks ago. Man, are they delighted.....
