Brilliant. Now, is it Forte that is the approved insurer and they will sell you insurance via an online portal? I am assuming only the approved insurer will be accepted by Cambodia Immigration.
Thanks a bunch, PSD-Kiwi.

Re: NEWS: E-type (Ordinary) Visa available online
BUT: this seems to be a tourist visa>>> valid for only 30 days of which 15 must be in quarantine
SO what do you do if u wish to convert it to a long stay extension??
Who will bother to apply?
$2,000++ for a 30 day holiday of which 15 is spent locked up

Re: NEWS: E-type (Ordinary) Visa available online
@phuketrichard NO! That is the e-Visa that is an electronic online Tourist Visa, which they are not currently offering....they are NOW offering the E-type (Ordinary) Visa (often incorrectly referred to as the business Visa). You get 30 days on arrival, bit apply for an Extension of Stay.
UPDATE: Appears to be a glitch in the system, currently can only select Taiwan as the "Country / region of birth". I have emailed them to advise them, let's see if it gets fixed.

@ExPenhMan as the Forte COVID-19 insurance policy is mandatory, it is assumed that this will be the one required as supporting documentation.

The only advantage, and it is a big advantage, is it removes the lottery of the embassies. Some are good ones and others that barely answer their phones, and the information is inconsistent. Some countries don't even have embassies. This make the application the same for everyone, wherever they are located in the world.
How strict they will be when assessing with the applications remains to be seen. Any rejections are unlikely to come with a coherent reason for rejection and a route to fixing the problem. Time will tell and I am sure we will hear stories of how much easier or harder it has become.
Well done @PSD-kiwi for bringing this to our attention.
Re: NEWS: E-type (Ordinary) Visa available online
Kiwi, am I right in thinking this is the first time they have ever offered an E visa online? I seem to remember having to get an E visa at the counter at the airport when I arrived permanently for the first time in 2017. This was the only route to getting an EB and then EOS's.
If you are coming here for the first time, this means that you have to have a firm contract of employment to get one of these E visas online. What is the route to an E visa for someone arriving here first and then securing employment. I am obviously talking about when things have calmed down a bit (2022+) and people start arriving here on spec.

Re: NEWS: E-type (Ordinary) Visa available online
Yes this is the first time ever that the E-type (Ordinary) Visa has been offered online.
Plenty of advantages
- don't have to deal with Embassies which are demanding unreasonable supporting g documentation
- don't have to send your passport away if applying remotely
- no full page Visa sticker
- approval in 3 days
Once COVID is under control and entry requirements and restrictions are eased, and they start issuing Visas on Arrival again it should be the same as before ie. No supporting documentation required for the E-type Visa on arrival.
