Fact. But I'd still like to see Indochina and even Thailand as part of the Japanese Empire.

Umm... Cambodia was kind of part of the Japanese Empire.

That link is wonky. The period of Japanese rule here wasn't particularly brutal as it was in other places. When they turned on their former Vichy French allies in Cambodia and interned them all there were some cruel executions. George Groslier's stands out among them. The Japanese encouraged Cambodia to declare independence in 1945 but it only lasted a few months until the French decided to reassert control.
