Means Khmer are complicated.Anchor Moy wrote:I'm a bit lost on what you mean tbh.
Most don’t marry for love. Women are pressured into marriage or risk being past the expired date.
Also marrying men all the same reasons as mentioned on a different thread of foreigners marrying Khmer. The man becomes a walking ATM.
No love. No mutual respect. Is it any wonder?
<that was pretty negative. I’ll try to see the glass half full next time>

My brother in law is 32 years old , still a virgin . The father is trying to marry him off . They show him pictures of potential brides but he does a runner every time. Maybe they should show pictures of men , he might get interested.explorer wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 3:27 pm Do you think paying a bride price a good idea in Cambodian culture? That is when a Cambodian marries another Cambodian?
We have already learnt in another topic, that many foreigners with Cambodian women have not paid paid a bride price. This is not intended to be a discussion on foreigners paying or not paying a bride price.

He probably wants to find a girl that he loves and loves him in return. His family will probably grind down his resistance and force him to marry some girl eventually. One that he’s never met, much less loves.Kratom123 wrote:My brother in law is 32 years old , still a virgin . The father is trying to marry him off . Then he can join the other Khmer husbands who spend their free time at the beer gardens and KTV with their mistresses.
Or he might really be gay and hasn’t announced it yet.

I guess if you were looking to marry a Doctor or someone from an "Upper Middleclass" you wouldn't be fielding questions on this forum about breaking down the various costs associated with it.. Unless your future family wants to charge you this fee? (which is what it sounds like).Kohker wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 5:15 pmWhy would I know or mix with girls in the sex industry?
Do you know or mix with girls in the sex industry in your home country? If not why would you do it here?
Have you ever drank a beer at a hostess bar?? Guess what,, If you have you have mixed with girls in the sex industry.
If not you have led a very sheltered life so far in the KOW

Hello grand barong there is no point in entering into any discussion because it will simply be stopped by the mods as it was earlier.Grand Barong wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 2:43 pmI guess if you were looking to marry a Doctor or someone from an "Upper Middleclass" you wouldn't be fielding questions on this forum about breaking down the various costs associated with it.. Hello Kohker,
When there is a screen between you and the other person, it is easy to forget that on the other side of that screen is another person just trying to do their best. Before you make a comment, ask yourself: would I say this to someone standing right in front of me? If the answer is no, then you should not say it online either. Depersonalised online interactions make it easier to get into fights and to be cruel, so always remember that behind every avatar is a real person with real feelings.
Apology accepted, enjoy the rest of your evening also.
