US Man, MATTHEW DAVID SAMPLE, in Major Meth Bust in Phnom Penh

Wow if that happened to me I would definitely report it to the policeKung-fu Hillbilly wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 1:55 amWould you, or do you, allow membership on K440 to individuals who have threatened fellow Cambodia forum owners and their family with violence?Alexandra wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 1:33 amI agree, and I am distancing myself completely from the content of that screenshot. If somebody had sent that to me I would have reported it to the police immediately.Anchor Moy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 1:26 am Even amongst the lowest of the low, threatening someone's family (or condoning that) is just sick, as in psycho.
There have been no such threats made on Khmer440 ....

I don't know what account that has been sent from. I have Wayne on Messenger and that's not his picture. It's not my picture either and there's no name provided, so I don't know if that is supposed to be Wayne or me or somebody else.
GM wrote the following that I'm not sure how to interpret:
"I've been getting threats from Wayne Brewer, and the current Swede owner, Alexandra, and his buddies think it's hilarious."
I'm not sure if I should be reading this as 1) "I've been getting threats from Wayne and Alexandra", as in Wayne and Alexandra have been sending threats. Or should I read it as 2) "I've been getting threats from Wayne and Alexandra thinks it's hilarious".
Both of those are wrong. I have not sent any threats to anybody and I do not laugh at threats made by others. It would be nice if GM could clarify so that we can eliminate misunderstandings.
Block him and call the police. I can't emphasize this enough.

Would you allow membership on K440 to individuals who have threatened fellow Cambodia forum owners and their family with violence?
It's a pretty straight forward question.

Would you allow membership to individuals who have parking tickets? DUI? Common assault?Kung-fu Hillbilly wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 2:24 am Would you allow membership on K440 to individuals who have threatened fellow Cambodia forum owners and their family with violence?

The judicial system handles criminals and people are legally innocent until proven guilty. Businesses don't conduct thorough criminal investigations to discover if someone has committed a crime against a competitor.
I can't do anything about criminal activity by third party individuals on third party platforms. Of course in an ideal world I would be a crime fighting superhero but unfortunately I don't have the resources to investigate what people are writing to each other on Messenger. I have not seen that screenshot before and I do not know who the sender is. What I know is that it didn't happen on Khmer440, the only relevant place where I have any authority.
Khmer440 follows the law and complies with lawful orders. If the court, police, prosecutors or lawyers believe that we have information that can help a criminal investigation then please make the request and we will cooperate. Papers can either be served electronically to [email protected] or if there is any risk that we would destroy evidence then subpoenas can be issued directly to our hosting company DigitalOcean, Inc. headquartered in New York City.

Ok, so not your problem, nothing you can do about it. Thanks, you've offered considerable insight.Alexandra wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 2:41 amWould you allow membership to individuals who have parking tickets? DUI? That's some weird shit. If it's any consolation the guy hasn't been in Cambodia for a long time, he's in Spain or the Netherlands or something. I find all this "Forum Wars" bullshit quite annoying, I've been on both since they started up and there are a lot of members that are on both. Saying they are all knuckleheads over there from whatever direction is not helpful. Singling out individual knuckleheads seems fair enough though. Too much shit-stirring spoils the broth.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 11:24 pm
Here's some of the recent threats from Wayne targeting my mother and I:
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Not sure why admins would have much to do with it, I’ve seen no threats on either site which were left up by admins.
Those screen grabs are a bit looney, not sure what’s the backstory but nothing excuses threatening people's family. Something about working with police to arrest someone selling drugs? Maybe don’t sell drugs?

I get you being empathetic, but so what if he has kids? Plenty of scumbag criminals love their kids, and no doubt their pet gerbils. This guy willingly got involved in a business that destroys lives and deserves no sympathy whatsoever. Make no excuses for him - whether out of necessity or pure greed he made a conscious choice to do the wrong thing, and I bet he wasn't thinking about his kids when he took the risk of getting caught, or he would have chosen a different path. His bad luck to get caught in a country where the penalties will be pretty bad for a young, healthy barang. So please, stick a bandaid on that bleeding heart.bossho wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 7:23 pm He's a reader and maybe a poster and he used to work with the General of our online life here. He s mostly good, has three lovely kids and an ex wife who is local. The tragedy of this is that he was committed to the kids and was wanting to provide for them. His friends and family abroad will do their best for the kids. Matt knows that. I guess he just was not able to muster an exit plan with the volatility of changes in the last 12 months. This is hard news for those kids but they have no doubts about their fathers love for them. Maybe he''ll catch a break.
BTW please note this is an attempt to get the subject back on track. Enough of these 440 / CEO childish antics, please.

Thanks for the life advice. However you don't know me, and actually I am as good as I am ever likely to get so don't waste your time. And I reserve the right to be as shitty as I feel like it - read the Human Rights Act, it's all in there.nerdlinger wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 11:45 pmWould it be racist to suggest punishing an entire people for the actions of a few? Yes. Yes it would. Pretty much dictionary definition racist. Acknowledging your own racism with a sly little wink doesn't make it any less shitty. Please try to be a better person.

Oooh Daddy's here, and he's got his proverbial belt out, rocking the unsympathetic racist look. Nice!lagrange wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 9:51 amI get you being empathetic, but so what if he has kids?
