Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): Mr. MOT Dara, Deputy Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court on January 28 decided to charge two Chinese nationals with illegal storage, transportation and trafficking of drugs, and they will be sent to the investigating judge for pretrial detention .

One of the suspects, PENG JIAN, male, 39, a Chinese chef, and CAI HUI JU, female, 39, CEO in a Chinese joint venture in the construction of the new airport in Saang district, Kandal province.

The two suspects were arrested by the police of the Internal Security Department of the Ministry of Interior on January 24, 2021, in Tonle Bassac commune, Chamkar Mon district, Phnom Penh, with more than 12 kilograms of drug exhibits which were confiscated when they were sent to a Chinese company called ZTO.

According to the police, the female suspect, CAI HUI JU, received instructions from an unknown Chinese man to take the package of methamphetamine to ZTO to be exported.
CAI HUI JU then employed PENG JIAN, a chef, to take the package of drugs to the above company for a commission of US$ 200. When the suspect took the package of drugs to the consignment company, he was arrested by the Internal Security Police, in collaboration with ZTO. Following his arrest, police learnt the name of the Chinese woman and she was also arrested.
