National
Oct 24. 2020
There were four new Covid-19 cases over a 24-hour period, including three cases in state quarantine and a domestic infection, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration said on Saturday.
Of the three returnees, one patient, aged 38, had arrived from Austria and two, aged 26 and 38, had returned from Hong Kong. All the Thai nationals were female.
The domestic case was a 57-year-old French tourist, who visited Koh Samui in Surat Thani province with her husband and son.
Koh Samui Hospital showed a positive result on October 21, and the result was again confirmed by the Regional Medical Sciences Centre 11 in Surat Thani on October 22.
However, her husband and son have tested negative. Further information on the French tourist can be checked here.
she is NOT a french tourist but a Thai citizen with a french husband an also a french passport.
She was allowed back into Thailand cause she is Thai

You’re right, the disease attributed to .0006% of deaths per population (228000/328,000,000) in the US over 9 months is just staggering. I guess Trump is responsible now for Europe overtaking the US in cases per capita? Or maybe they’ll swallow their pride and ask Trump for help like they did ventilators.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 9:42 amThailand; 3,731 cases, 53 deaths 977, 854 tests

Coronavirus cases hit records in Europe, surpassing U.S. numbers
“Europe set a record this week for new coronavirus infections, overtaking the United States in cases per capita, and a top World Health Organization official warned on Thursday that death rates on the continent this winter could be five times as bad as the April peak if people are not strict about masks and social distancing.“

One Covid-19 death, 930 new cases
published : 30 Jan 2021 at 12:52
A Myanmar worker in Samut Sakhon province has died, raising the Covid-19 death toll to 77, while 930 new cases were added — 916 local infections and 14 imported — bringing the total to 17,953.
The new death was a 31-year-old Myanmar man. He had cirrhosis and was an alcoholic, Dr Panprapa Yongtrakul, assistant spokesperson of Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on Saturday.
The man had been in contact with a confirmed case. On Dec 15, he was admitted to a hospital after developing a fever, bloated stomach and jaundice. On Dec 29, he had difficulty breathing and an x-ray showed his lungs were infected. He tested positive the next day.
On Jan 2, he had bleeding in the digestive tract. On Jan 19, he had acute kidney failure and disseminated intravascular coagulation. Multiple organ failure folllowed and he died on Wednesday.
Of the 916 local infections, 27 had visited high-risk areas or been in contact with previously infected patients. The remaining 889 were found from active case finding in communities, she said.

Re: [BREAKING] Thailand reports first local case after 100 days of coronavirus-free run
Watch out Cambodia. I don't want to scaremonger, but almost 1000 new cases (930) reported in one day is a big leap for Thailand.
Thailand, Burma and Vietnam all have Covid outbreaks now. Nobody knows about Laos because they don't say anything, but we can suspect that the real numbers are higher than the official figures.
All SEA land borders look to remain closed in light of the new virus outbreaks.

Well the way migrant workers are being housed, once one of them has it, they all have it. Cluster numbers, cluster fucks, pretty much the same the world over.

Has anyone else notice that mask wearing in Phnom Penh has reduced significantly? During the November outbreak uptake of mask wearing was high, probably 4 out of 5. Now is seems more like 1or 2 out of 5.CEOCambodiaNews wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 9:04 pm Watch out Cambodia. I also noticed that yesterdays figures were 19 new cases, but no information on where they came from. That is a big jump in one day.
