Re: Tuktuk Drivers and Motordops Rounded Up in Shame Display for Peeing in Public
The campaign against peeing and pooing in public places continues in Daun Penh distict, Phnom Penh.
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): Daun Penh District Governor Mr. Sok Penh Vuth assigned the Daun Penh District People's Defense Force to inspect and continue to detain people who defecate and urinate in the trees, in the gardens, on the walls of people's houses, on the walls of construction sites and in other public places in the district.
As a result, 11 more people were arrested for causing disorder and causing bad smells to travelers and affecting the health of the general public.
The Wall of Shame
After the inspection, the district force invited them to come to Daun Penh district hall for education and instructed them to spray and clean the place where they defecated and then let them go back.
Please be informed that the district administration would like to urge all citizens not to follow their example and find the right place to defecate in the public or private bathroom near you to avoid causing anarchy, affecting public health as well.

Yes, this is a real problem for homeless people, as well as for the tuktuk drivers and motordops, and IMO it's a bit disgusting to shame these people because of the lack of public conveniences.VascoDeGrandma wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 7:36 pm Where do they realistically expect tuk tuk and moto drivers to pee?
Nobody chooses to shit behind a tree because they want to. It's happens because there are not enough public toilets available. Step up Daun Penh authorities and provide the necessary equipment if you want clean streets .

There's plenty of toilets around city now days. Public ones, petrol stations and marts/mall toilets.
