Mandatory quarantine for14days

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

ok did some figures for 2 of us sharing the room and not being able to opt out of the meals

15 nights quarantine $900 min
2 people @3 meals a day at $10-/meal ( $900) can share the room with my gf ( thats what we spend in 2 months here in phuket)
2 covid tests before flight ( 6,000) baht $200
4 tests in Cambodia ( what?? $100 each)
dr @ $6/day/person ---will they really charge me that? What a money maker for the hotel if there say 20 people quarantining at the hotel $180
Security @ 3/day /person? $90

total $2,500 Yikes....

Add on to get the visa in bangkok need; a covid test, fly up to bangkok and back, stay the night + taxis + visa fee (1,500 baht ( $50) so another apx $260

Supposedly silk air says they will start Phuket- Singapore- PP feb 1st 9,470 - $315
and Thai air asia is listing flights Phuket-Bangkok-PP starting march 1st ONLY 2,128 baht ( $71)

Wish i had a crystal ball and could see that they will lift the quarantine by mid summer and start issuing visas on arrival
Quarantine costs no matter where you go are the disincentive to travel, but being Cambodia you would think the cost would be less than another countries, but sadly not, at least there not charging thier own people who return unlike other countries

Yes, you are charged the security and doc/nurse fees no matter what (although I don't believe they charge that to Cambodians who opt for hotel quarantine), you will also be charged for the transport from airport to hotel @$5, and the bank deposit processing fee of $30. Oh, and yes, the PCR tests are $100×2, only foreigners have to pay that, free for Cambodians.

If anyone has the time and money for quarantine this is truly truly an EXCELLENT time to visit Thailand. Not including Bangkok and pattaya tho.

Yeah, and I don't know many 'dry' golfers. I even thought that the whole point of a round of golf is to get to the clubhouse and drink some cold beers. :BangHead:
