Cambodia News, (Banteay Meanchey): A young woman who had been bitten by a cat, living in Keab Leu village, Banteay Meanchey province, exploded with gestures and sounds like a cat chasing someone. Her parents called for help, but the doctor was too scared to treat the victim.

Aun Chreab, 40, the mother of the young woman, said on January 25, 2021, that the victim, 20-year-old Sao Vannary, was a 12th grade student and was bitten by a cat on her left leg, causing bleeding during the past two months. Then, on the evening of January 24, 2021, his daughter went to eat at a friend's birthday party and exploded like a cat and was taken home by a friend's parents.
Seeing that the child's condition was very serious, the villagers sent her to two hospitals, but the doctor did not accept the victim after questioning her and saw that she looked like a crazy cat, so the victim was taken back to the Khmer doctor in the village until she fell asleep and woke up in the morning, behaving normally.

The mother stated that she currently has a small business of sewing clothes at home and has a husband named Suong Chum, 40 years old, a construction worker with 4 children, earning a living day by day, and the couple are unable to send their daughter for examination or treatment at a proper hospital.

Regarding this case, Dr. Le Chansangvat, Director of the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Health Department, said that when someone is bitten by a dog or cat, they must be immediately taken to hospital and vaccinated against rabies as well as other diseases. If the patient is treated too late they will die.
