Belgian Man Injured in Kandal Motorbike Accident
Cambodia News (Kandal): On January 8, 2021, at 11 am, in Prek Hou Keut village, Sangkat Prek Hou, Takmao city, Kandal, a foreign man was injured in a motorbike accident.
Before the incident, a PCX motorbike, plate Kandal 1AE-9328, was driven by a Belgian man, BART JACOBS, 54 years old, who lives in Sangkat Prek Hou, Takmao city, Kandal. The motorbike was driving in a south to north direction, until the driver braked suddenly and fell off his bike.
The foreign man was seriously injured, and an ambulance from Malis hospital sent him to the Royal Hospital in Phnom Penh for treatment.

Below, I would like to summarize the work of Dr. Bart Jacobs in Cambodia.
Dr. Bart Jacobs was born in February 1967 in Vilvoorde, Belgium. He holds a PhD in Medical Sciences and first worked in Cambodia in April 2000 in Maung Russey District, Battambang Province, as a Public Health Advisor for Bridging Relief Aid for District Health System.
In 2001, he moved to Kirivong district, Takeo province, to strengthen the district health management team so that the poor and vulnerable could receive quality health care at minimal cost. He worked at the Kirivong OD Health Office, which covers four administrative districts, until 2007 in a project to strengthen the public health service system.
In 2007, Dr. Jacobs went to work in Laos, but he returned to Cambodia in 2013.

Sounds as this man has done so much for the care and wellbeing for the countries people over many years, I am sure he will be missed by many for his work and care. RIP.
