Swedish Doctor Found Dead in Siem Reap
Cambodia News (Siem Reap): On September 29, 2020, at 6 pm, the police received the information from a landlord that a Swedish doctor, THOMAS PAR TOLFVENSTAM, 46 years old, passed away in a rented house in Modul 3 village, Sangkat Slor Kram, Siem Reap.
Dr Tolfvenstam was a virologist living in Siem Reap, who previously worked at the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Division of Clinical Virology, Karolinska Institutet, Karolinska University Hospital Stockholm.
According to the examination by Dr. Eth Chobcharoth, the autopsist, the victim died three days ago after taking the wrong medicine. The body was taken to keep at Stueng Meanchey pagoda, waiting for the decision from the family and the embassy.

^^^ Karolinska is a highly regarded research institute. I think the Swedish embassy will be taking a very hard look at the circumstances and order the body home for a proper autopsy.

Have some respect for the family and remove this name and family. How someone can upload a picture of a diseased persons passport is beyond my understanding - huge lack of empathy.

CEO is posting news that is already in the public domain (see source). On a website. For expats. In or linked to Cambodia. And the news is over 3 months old. RIP to the gentleman.anna.tjernström wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 11:41 pm Have some respect for the family and remove this name and family. Firstly, sorry for your loss.anna.tjernström wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 11:41 pm Have some respect for the family and remove this name and family. How someone can upload a picture of a diseased persons passport is beyond my understanding - huge lack of empathy.
When expats die in Cambodia, the information is posted on CEO to inform those who knew the deceased. Often expats know other expats only by their first names, or they have lost track of them over time, so it is helpful for us to have a photo and confirmation of the deceased person's identity.
As Yerg says, all this information is already available online in the Khmer news media, and gets translated into English here for Cambodian expats.
Condolences to you and the family, but please don't take this post as a lack of respect for the deceased. Cambodian expats are a small community and this is how we keep track of each other.
