Phnom Penh Phone Shop Burglary Caught on CCTV

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

150 phones at, lets say conservatively, an average of $250, so that's $37500 plus $30,000 cash = quite a nice score.

With that kind of value on site you'd think they would have an alarm system or maybe a security guard there at night. Or at least a decent safe for the cash.

Can you buy insurance for this kind of risk here? If so, maybe they have discovered insurance fraud. $30k in cash is a bit suspicious in itself...

I notice the burglar isn't wearing gloves. Hasn't he heard of fingerprints?

I love it when Doc forgets which country he's in.

I love it when Brody forgets to read the original posting date! :D

Anyway, I had only been in the country just over one year and thought that this was a normal country. I am now a fully paid up member of the cynical expat club.

Ha, you got me. I rarely assume that someone bumps a 2 year old thread with some nothing comment. I wonder why Matty9999 does this?

I figured you missed the date, and it's not often you give someone such an open goal, and I couldn't resist :D

As for why Matty9999 does it, I'm baffled too. How many pages do you have to go back to find a April 2019 news post???

Usually zero, they come up in the Similar Topics section at the bottom of each thread.
