Shock and Condemnation After Hospital Refuses to Treat Woman
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): At more than 8 pm on Friday, January 8, 2021, along the 30-meter road, Damnak Thom 3 village, Sangkat Stung Meanchey III, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh, a beautiful woman was found by the villagers standing on the street without saying anything, suspected of being drugged, causing a great surprise, so the villagers reported to the Chief of Stung Meanchey III Police Station.
Brigadier General Em Pheary, Chief of Stung Meanchey III Police Station, said that after the villagers reported that a woman was standing on the street, not talking about anything and suspected of being drugged, he went with his officers to see the woman.
She did not answer his questions, so he took the woman in his own car to the hospital to get treated. But the shocking thing is that when she was transported to Soukea Hospital, located at No. 240, Street 217, Russey Village, Sangkat Stung Meanchey III, Khan Meanchey, the hospital refused to accept the treatment, claiming that the woman had no relatives with her, so she was refused medical treatment.
After this heavenly hospital refused to accept the woman, the Chief of Stung Meanchey III became more concerned about her condition, so he sent her to the Polyclinic and Maternity Hospital for examination and treatment. The Chief of Stung Meanchey 3 Police Station, along with the people, also expressed his outrage that the Soukea Hospital refused to treat this woman, saying that they have no professional ethics. Finally, the Chief of Sangkat Stung Meanchey 3 Administrative Police Station and the people expressed their gratitude to the Malis Dangkor Polyclinic and Maternity Hospital for accepting the woman to be examined by a doctor and treated with care.
In any business, there is always a code of ethics as well as a set of rules that must be followed in order to fulfill one's duties effectively and enhance the values of the individual, business, society, nation, especially the field in which he / she is working. That any misconduct not only affects the individual as a provocateur, it is very easy to be evaluated by the public, so do not forget to keep this document, doctor ethics !!! .

Re: Shock and Condemnation After Hospital Refuses to Treat Woman
A bit funny to hear this from Cambodian news. Have they just woken up from a long slumber and just realized that this routinely happens all over the country? At either surprised because she's good looking? They're private institutions, and want cash/proof of funds prior to accepting people all the time. There's no Hippocratic Oath here...

There is another four paragraphs, that I cut out, which continue with the lecture to doctors about ethics. The journalist is quite strident about the need for integrity in the medical profession.truffledog wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 5:54 pm the fact that this case is reported in the news shows that Cambodia is moving in the right direction even if the way to go is still a long one.

What about Calmette and Soviet Friendship hospitals? They're public right? Do they also want to proof of funds?
Re: Shock and Condemnation After Hospital Refuses to Treat Woman
Do MD's here not take the Hippocratic oath?
First is 'do no harm'
I'd say turning away a human being in need of medial attention is harmful.

Hippocratic oath ...
https://www.medicinenet.com/hippocrati ... nition.htm
Teach medicine for free, don’t do stuff that could kill patients, don’t have sex with them, etc.
Medical schools all cost money, every medicine can potentially cause harm, still not allowed to have sex with patients.
No mention of an accountant barring the door to the doctor because of no money. The Clinic refused the lady, not the physician.
