One Injured and One Missing After Drunk Driver Pushes Moto into Canal

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On January 8, 2021, a man was driving a motorbike which was pushed into the canal by a drunk car driver, in Sangkat Prey Sor, Khan Donkor, Phnom Penh.

The victim was driving a Honda dream motorbike, plate Kandal 1G-3398s, with his wife as passenger, when he was hit by a Prius car, plate PP2AX-2687. The motorbike and the car were driving in the same direction from north to south; the car was driving too fast and smashed the motorbike into the canal.
The local people helped the motorbike driver to get out of the canal and sent him to the hospital. Before he passed out, the victim told the doctor to search for his wife. After the accident, the car driver crawled out of the car in a drunken condition and was detained by the local people.
The local people and the police are searching for the victim's wife, but they haven't found her yet.

The motorbike driver is dead, leaving a wife and three kids. His last thoughts were for his wife, but she was not with him on the motorbike (as was first reported.)

The driver responsible for the accident was identified as Sen Ratana, 32 years old, a male construction supervisor, driving a silver TOYOTA Prius with license plate Phnom Penh 2AX-2687, living in Sambour Village, Sangkat Dangkor, Khan Dangkor, Phnom Penh. He has been arrested.
