I still like it a lot but the development is very messy in a lot of areas. Haven't been since mid 2019 but there were too many construction sites and derelict hotels. Some parts of the center are pretty enough and the surroundings can be very pleasant.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

I remember pub street beeing a modest stretch of dirt road with only a handful of bars around 2002/2003. You could still rent motorbikes back then and explore the beauties of the temples on your own without paying a cent. in the evening you would wash down the dirt in your lungs in one of the few bars (I remember Red Piano and Angkor What ? beeing one of the first bars to be on pub street).John Bingham wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 6:44 pmGoing downhill for me since 2000.Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 6:33 pm Tbh for me Siem Reap has been going downhill since 2013

Seeing posts like this make sad, shit how developed and fast-moving the world is now, I just want to chill in a bar on a beach where time has stopped. Re: Moving back to Phnom Penh
those bamboo huts on the beach move once replaced by the concrete ones. Its just a matter of finding them and NOT tell everybody where they are. They do still exist..but halftime has become shorter due to our mania of posting/blogging and other "social" media influence unfolding the secret beauty of a that chilled new place. Its usually the backpackers who come first and create the firts demand.JUDGEDREDD wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 1:25 amSeeing posts like this make sad, shit how developed and fast-moving the world is now, I just want to chill in a bar on a beach where time has stopped. True but there's Oscar's
Once you've read the dictionary, every other book is just a remix.
Re: Moving back to Phnom Penh
I didn't leave PP because I hate the place, I left because a relationship ended and I needed to get some space between me and that situation. I've had enough space and now I want to dance
