Sleeping Chinese Driver Hits a Power Pole in Phnom Penh
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On January 2, 2021, at 2:40 am, an unidentified Chinese man, who is suspected of falling asleep while driving, smashed into an electrical pole on Russian Federation road, Bayon market, in Phnom Penh.
Before the incident, a Chinese man was driving a Hilux Vico car, plate PP2I-3036, from west to east at high speed, when he smashed the car into a lamp-post. The electric pole and the car were damaged, and the driver was wounded on the head. It is suspected that the driver was drunk, and that he caused the accident because he fell asleep at the wheel.
After the incident, the police took the Chinese man's car to the police station, waiting to sort out the problem later.

And understatement of the year (yes, yes, it’s early days yet) goes to...The electric pole and the car were damaged
Hilux. It was only a few years ago that Top Gear were dropping buildings on one in a futile attempt to kill it. Now, the Chinese outdo them by falling asleep. Certainly a better effort than some.
