Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So . I was Zoom teaching when.....

Post by IraHayes »

It was Xmas eve and it had been ear-marked as a bit of fun day by the powers that be so there we were... playing games and killing time.
We had a couple of students sing a couple of song and while I was Googling stuff on the iPad I came across a song from my childhood.
“Puff the Magic Dragon” So I played it for the class, which was a bunch of 12/13 year olds, and the feedback was very surprising. They loved it... a few have been practising it and want to sing it do as part of their speaking assessment lol.

They also liked “run rabbit run” but everyone loved Puff the Magic Dragon.

I used to play this song to my son when he was little. The poignancy of this verse still brings a tear to my eye:

A dragon lives forever, but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant's rings make way for other toys
One gray night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff, that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar

Bloody hell I had that song ringing in my ears all night last night,
I'm standing up, so I must be straight.

This song is widely rumoured to be about smoking cannabis cigarettes.

Check out these obvious stoners:

I may be going to hell in a bucket,
but at least I'm enjoying the ride.
