There always are on New Year's Eve. I wouldn't advise going near there unless you live nearby, there are usually insane traffic jams.

I am not a fan of fireworks but the wife wants the 18-month year old to see them...I imagine the noise with scare her...

I don't think there were any last year. And a previous year they were going off from somewhere to the north/northwest of Wat Phnom.
