Body Found Floating in Mondulkiri Stream

Cambodia News, (Mondulkiri): On December 18, 2020 at 7:30am, local police received Information from the people that there was a dead body floating in the stream in Chamkar Te village, Spean Meanchey commune, Sen Monorom city, Mondulkiri province.

After receiving this information, the Municipal Special Forces of Sen Monorom Municipal Inspector and the Spean Meanchey Administrative Post Force, in cooperation with the Technical and Scientific Bureau, went to examine and autopsy the body on the spot.

The body in the stream floated face down, and after forensic examination, the police confirmed that the body did not have any noticeable marks, only the left ear was scarred by the fish.

The deceased man was named Pon Mao, 45 years old, Khmer, temporary residence in the village, but he had no fixed home and was sleeping rough.According to the information from Teav Phea, a neighbor, on the evening of December 16, 2020, at 6:00pm, the victim drank a lot of alcohol, and in fact he was very addicted to alcohol.
People did not see the man again after this time, until the morning of the 18th at 7:30am, when they saw the body floating in the stream and reported it to the authorities.

According to the conclusion of the police, the body died from drinking alcohol and falling into the stream and drowning. There were no traces of violence and police esteem that it was an accident. After the forensic examination, the police handed over the body to his parents to celebrate the national tradition.
