Elderly Couple Get "Fish-Snatched" in Phnom Penh

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

After the bag-snatchings and the phone-snatchings, the new criminal trend is fish-snatching.

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On December 10, 2020, the suspect snatched a bucket of fishes from a couple near Chbar Ampov high school, national road 1, Sangkat Niroth, Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh. The victims were Oum Nareth, a 49 years old man, a fish seller, and his wife, Oum Srey, 50 years old.

Before the incident, they took a motordub from their house to buy fish for sale as usual. They bought about 20kg of fish that cost about 320,000 riels, and they took it to sell at their house in the Preak Takoy area.
But, while the couple were travelling home along national road 1, a man drove up behind them on his motorbike and he snatched a bucket of fishes from the woman. The victims' motorbike fell over, causing them to get slightly injured. The suspect ran away to escape.

After the incident, the police sent the couple to the police station to file a complaint, so the police could search for the suspect to punish by legal action.
