Following the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak - News and Discussion
Re: Following the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak - News and Discussion
I used to watch this guy years ago when his channel was mostly about computing. He was pretty good back then. He then slowly started to change the nature of his channel, first talking about issues like MGTOW (Men going their own way - ie, a (mild) form of misogyny, and then it appears he completely immersed himself in the tin-foil-hat YouTube community and started going completely off the rails. That's when I clicked the 'don't recommend this channel' button.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never allow the dumb ones to lead the pack.

Coronaviruses closely related to the pandemic virus discovered in Japan and Cambodia
The viruses, both found in bats stored in laboratory freezers, are the first SARS-CoV-2 relatives to be found outside China.
Two lab freezers in Asia have yielded surprising discoveries. Researchers have told Nature they have found a coronavirus that is closely related to SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for the pandemic, in horseshoe bats stored in a freezer in Cambodia. Meanwhile, a team in Japan has reported the discovery of another closely related coronavirus — also found in frozen bat droppings.
The viruses are the first known relatives of SARS-CoV-2 to be found outside China, which supports the World Health Organization’s search across Asia for the pandemic’s animal origin. Strong evidence suggests that SARS-CoV-2 originated in horseshoe bats, but whether it passed directly from bats to people, or through an intermediate host, remains a mystery.
The virus in Cambodia was found in two Shamel’s horseshoe bats (Rhinolophus shameli) captured in the country’s north in 2010. The virus’s genome has not yet been fully sequenced — nor its discovery published — making its full significance to the pandemic hard to ascertain..

Why do you always spell economy with a K? Are you trying to imply that it is a false god that only exists in the minds of greedy capitalists, or something like that?SternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 10:17 pm FFS It's just the flu

The US reported 181,490 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, a third daily rise in a row, as hospitalisations hit a record for a 16th day in succession, at 89,959.
There were 2,297 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University, the largest single-day rise since May, bringing the pandemic toll to 262,065 out of nearly 12.8m cases. The death rate is still lower than in the spring.
The alarming numbers were reported as millions of Americans defied official advice against travel and gatherings for Thanksgiving.

It's funny the Guardian article would say this. Not much lower and rising and it wasn't long ago daily daily deaths were 1000/day and now it's more than doubled. But never mind..no need to worry.. ''The death rate is still lower than in the spring" .... great!

Good point Clutch ^^
To be generous, maybe they just paused for a moment and stated the bald fact
- in a pang of journalistic conscious, because they know they usually spin the shit out of everything.
I reckon i am more green, left, liberal than any Guardian journo
but i can hardly read it these days - it's exactly as bad a Fox et al for being just a philosophical/political spin machine.
although far less dangerous

Funnily, I think it is so left wing and panders to it's pinko readers in a tragic way. Anything that can be spun with a connection to race, women's issues, LGBTQ+*^+, the environment and other assorted woke headings and off it goes. And all roads lead to the Tories holding a smoking gun.SternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 9:39 am Good point Clutch ^^

I only read it because I can obtain some basic facts about the news. I ignore their opinions and conclusions, whether expressed or implied and because it is free (donations and subscriptions entirely optional) and easy to read (as opposed to the truly dreadful Mail Online).
The lefties, greenies and the other placard waving classes pay for it, and I read it for free. It's nice to have the socialists actually pay their way for once.

He calls all the members of CEO by cutesy names, too.
Because he believes he’s better than everyone else and has to prove it constantly.

Covid-19 News from Sweden:
Swedes' support for anti-lockdown stance slips amid rising Covid deaths
News comes as PM says high schools will switch to distance learning for rest of term
Jon Henley Europe correspondent
Thu 3 Dec 2020 13.42 GMT
Support for Sweden’s government and public confidence in authorities’ ability to handle the coronavirus crisis are sliding as the country’s anti-lockdown approach continues to be tested by mounting numbers of deaths and new cases.
As the national health agency announced 6,485 new infections and 33 more deaths on Thursday, the prime minister, Stefan Löfven , said the country’s high schools would switch to distance learning from 7 December for the rest of the term.
“This is being done so as to have a slowing effect on the spread of the disease, Löfven said, adding that the measure was “not an extended break”. What the country did now “will determine how we can celebrate Christmas”, he said.
A six-monthly poll by Statistics Sweden this week showed support for Löfven’s centre-left Social Democrats had dropped nearly five percentage points to 29.4% since May, amid signs Swedes are increasingly unconvinced by the country’s strategy.
