Cambodia News (Kampong Cham): On November 18, 2020, at 09 pm, a man killed his 11-month-old nephew by slicing his throat in Toul Roka village, Kampong Siem district, Kampong Cham.

According to Kampong Siem police, the suspect named Srin Bonin, a 34-year-old farmer, used a knife to slice open his nephew's throat because he was angry with the victim's mother for criticizing him. The 11-month-old boy died immediately at the scene.

After killing the child while the parents were away, the suspect ran to hide in the rice field. Police searched for the suspect and arrested him at 9:30 pm. The suspect put up a fight and attacked a patrolman, causing him to get injured.

Mr. Sothea Piseth, Kampong Cham prosecutor, said the suspect confessed that he had killed his 11-month-old nephew because he was angry that his sister-in-law was nagging him all the time. The suspect used to work outside the country as a migrant worker, and he is a drug user.

The suspect was sent to Kampong Siem police station for questioning and case preparation.
