Deposit on Arrival - Which bank to Choose
Re: Deposit on Arrival - Which bank to Choose
If you arrived on Nov 1st and had your second test last Saturday then I assume you’ll get it back end of this week. They are a bit inconsistent, it took just 2 days on my first stint but about a week on my second arrival.WizBall wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 2:57 pm Well my advice to anyone arriving please avoid using CAB bank for your deposit. I have been here since the 1st of the month and followed all the rules but still cannot get my money back. I have visited two different branches of CAB and both had different timeframes on when the cash could be retrieved. The second one even told me next Monday! Anyway I kicked up a fuss but they blamed it on the ministry and I should call 115 the covid hotline... Not really sure what to do yet but I can't really say the system works. The countless story's I have read of people getting there deposit back with no problems has me scratching my head.

No one tested positive on the first test as we were released to self isolate. The second test I don't know but didn't see anything in the press releases. The problem is there is no one to speak to even to clarify those two points you mentioned. It's just a case of suck it up and you will get what you given when they are ready. Still not a good way of doing things. I have a limited time frame here and it's a real inconvenience.

Limited time frame and absolutely not having enough reserves (minus the deposit), and you STILL came to the Kingdom of Wonder?WizBall wrote:...Still not a good way of doing things. I have a limited time frame here and it's a real inconvenience.
Sir, you are braver than you look. Or luckier. At least much luckier than me.
Anyways, I wish you good luck on following your itinerary to the letter.

If you have a limited time frame, was it for business? If so, you could have had your employer or inviting company sponsor you via the Validation on Guarantee (sponsorship by company) scheme and you wouldn't have had to pay the deposit.

Nope I came for family reasons and I wanted to spend the money with them before I return to the UK. I have enough to see me through I just didn't think I would have to make a few wasted journeys to the bank. It's also keeping me tied to the capital as there are very few places you can collect from.

Collected this morning from Naga City Walk Branch. A grand total of $1683 after deductions. Nothing to dispute on the invoice. No queue there either seems the best choice for CAB collection of you chose them.
