Gas Truck Fails to Stop at Red Light; 1 Dead and 5 Vehicles Smashed
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On November 15, 2020, a gas truck crashed into 5 vehicles that were stopping for the traffic light on Hanoi road, Sangkat Kok Thlok, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh, killing one man and injurying several others, including a pregnant woman.
Before the incident, a gas truck, plate PP3E-4913, was driving on Hanoi road from north to south, but failed to stop at the traffic lights where a number of vehicles were waiting for the light to turn green. The truck smashed into a tuk-tuk and other 4 motorbike carts, injurying two women who were sent to hospital. A 47-year-old man, Yen Reth, who drove a motorbike cart that delivered mirrors, died at the scene.
After the incident, the local police arrested a truck driver and checked the accident. All the evidence was taken to the police station, waiting to sort the problem out.
[Note that the truck driver did not run away.]
