TAT announces compulsory medical insurance for foreign visitors

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

The greed amazes me, they lack the ability to look at foreign visitors as a group from which they made and will make billions of Baht annually. Instead, they manically focus on the few who might cost them a few Baht. This consistent behavior spares me from feeling any sadness over the tourist crash caused by COVID. But for corruption, the government could administer an insurance program. How can you get health insurance anyway once the epidemic has started?

Holy Toledo

That 34,000 bht - US$1400 - for 1 year, would be for us old blokes. (probably)
or 30 days/160 bucks for a visa run, to catch a flight or go on a weekend shopping trip.
Just for Covid only insurance!

One more reason....

The insanity of TAT still thinking foreigners their first priority is re-entering Thailand under all circumstances 🙁
