This is just the start - it will be 1000+ by December, just in time for lockdown to end.

Coronavirus: UK records 532 COVID-related deaths - highest since mid-May

You have to die of something

Where are the smoking/cancer alerts?

The diabetes alerts?

The obesity alerts?

Apparently it's an absolute mystery why the cases have gone up so much today 🤔🤔,

Last week before the new lockdown began 🥴

So that justifies zero response from govt? How so?

Governments promote and allow tobacco companies to operate.

Governments grow and sell or facilitate the sale of foods and drinks that contain known carcinogens.

So we can't act on things we are complicit in, but we have to act on an indeterminate?

800.000 kids die every year of diarrhea, see any govt rushing to buy cheap antibiotics or get them clean water?

The logic of the response escapes me.

Are you just a troll? You say his logic in response escapes you, yet you responded to the number of covid deaths with talk of smoking, obesity and diabetes.

Covid is contagious which is why the government has taken such drastic action.

The government has taken action on smoking in the form of educating the public as to its danger, forcing companies to use plain and identical packaging including graphic images and warnings and has also banned smoking ìndoors in public places to protect non-smokers.

With regards to diabetes and obesity, better education and sugar tax are a couple of things being done.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... for-action

You must have been living in a bubble for a number of years if you think nothing is being done or said to try to tackle the obesity problem. Some say we already live in a nanny state, do you think the government should take away even more of our freedom of choice and stop the sale of all tobacco products overnight aswell as all sweets, crisps and any other unhealthy food and drinks?

We all have to decide on our lifestyle choices. Its up to you what you eat and if you choose to exercise or not. All the government can really do is to educate people on the risks of certain lifestyle choices, its up to the individual what the do with that information.

I may have totally missed your point and you could have been talking the need for the government to subsidise healthy foods which I would agree with you on. I'm still not sure of the relevance of all this in relation to covid though.
