British Tourist Accused of Breaking Siem Reap Hotel Toilet & Leaving Without Paying

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Cambodian nationals have been looking for this British man, Ben Anthony Keeley, from Worcester, saying the man ran off without paying, leaving his belongings in the hotel room, including his passport.

They also say he came back later to try and get his stuff, and ended up vandalizing the toilet.

The hotel seems to be Villa Niron in Siem Reap. This was first reported on October 31 and it seems they still haven't heard from him.

If it was a genuine accident, he wouldn't have run away

Wonder what the muppet is going to do without his passport ?, probably not long before he's begging to be flown home

In fairness, he vandalized the sink, not the toilet. Leaving his passport behind is a bit dumb, in any case.

He left the hotel and left his belongings and passport in the room. How is that "running away". It sounds more like he just left for the day. He eventually came back - not very consistent with running away; more consistent with going out.

God knows what went on with the sink, that's another story, but nothing a few bucks and a humble apology won't fix.

When I used to build small hotels in Phuket, I designed the bathroom so that all pipes and fittings went on the outside wall. For the basin/sink, I used huge support bolts that went all the way through the wall, because I was familiar with the lousy, weak fittings that are supplied. You could demolish the bathroom and the basin would still be secured to the wall....

I think I read somewhere that he stole the guys motorbike also. Unless I'm confusing dodgy dudes from SR.

Edit: On Sim Sreyleak's page she says he rented a moto from her and never came back. I think somewhere else it was posted that he went to PP.

I'm not suggesting he's a paragon of virtue, but I am loathe to accept one side of the story just because somebody has posted it. (people who take photos of themselves in the gym are very suss)

If he rented a bike and disappeared, that is a police matter. File a report, post a copy of the report online and then tell the backstory. That would give it some credence.

Some people think that posting on social media alone is the way to prosecute criminal acts. They are wrong and should grow up.
