Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): At 10:20 a.m. on October 31, 2020, local residents reported finding the body of a dead man floating in the swamp in the Tonle Sap River east of Wat Phnom. Later, the police arrived at the scene and examined the body of the unidentified victim, a male aged about 30 years old.
The man was found with a black backpack tied around his waist which contained a stone weighing about 10 kilograms. The body was in a swollen state, indicating that it had been in the water for some time.

The forensic experts of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police arrived at the scene to transport the body to Wat Teuk Thla for further examination to find out the cause of death of the victim.
The presence of a stone in the backpack rules out the possibility of an accident, but it has not yet been determined whether the deceased is a murder victim who was dumped in the river, or whether he took his own life.
