Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Hangover: The Fight, the Sex Worker, the Meth, and the Missing Motorbike

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On October 19, 2020, at 8:30 pm, an unidentified man who had no money lost his motorbike after taking a streetwalker to a guesthouse in Sangkat Sras Chok, Phnom Penh. He drove all the way to Phnom Penh from Kampong Thom on his Honda motorbike after he had a fight with his wife, and went directly to Wat Phnom area to pick up a streetwalker.

The streetwalker named Somath, 30 years old, said she went to work at the Wat Phnom area before the incident. The man asked her to sleep with him and he would pay her 100,000 riels, but he said he had no money to stay at the guesthouse.
Then, they took the motorbike to the pawnshop to get money for 20 USD to stay at the guesthouse. The man took drugs (ICE) to use with her, and they sleep together.
When he woke up and found the bike was gone, he accused the sex worker of taking his motorbike to the pawnshop to get money for 150 USD, so she ran away. Her customer went looking for her, and when he found her, the police took her to Sras Chok police station for questioning.

This story doesn't make any sense. They pawned the bike then she pawned the bike? Also what kind of moron pawns a motorbike just to get a shag and what kind of utter moron tells the police they were smoking ice?
Silence, exile, and cunning.

^^ Ceo News: To be clearer, it seems that the man in question left the keys to his motorbike with the girl as colateral, because he didn't have any money (and presumably he was desperate for some sex).
She must've given the keys to a boyfriend, because he then took it to the pawnshop while the other two were busy smoking ice and doing sexy time things.

It was the prostitute who told the police that they had smoked ice, but who knows why she told them ?
