Hi guys,

I know there is plenty of herbal products available at Orussey market, but i would like to know : how could i guess what is available, and what isn't ?

I came across an acquaintance who is fully resourcefull in this kind of products, and is looking to expand to south-east asia. I can manage for some countries, but doesn't know any reliable structure dealing with this matter in Kow.

Does anybody knows a source of information / herbal company willing and able to exchange seriously a bit on this matter please ?

It's quite some years ago now but after the use of Traditional Khmer Medicine I witnessed and wrote about in a leading posting on another forum, I became interested in this subject and while researching it came across a technical publication on the subject written in French during the French Colonial Era and which today would be known as a Pharmacopoeia of KTM (Khmer Traditional Medicine). Unfortunately, it is now a "Rare Book" and priced accordingly and I can no longer recall its full and correct title.

In addition to the publication first quoted, there are other studies available online that give partial listings of fauna and flora still in daily use throughout Cambodia for TKM by TKM Kru.

After all, they published the five volume ... Cambodia Medicinal Plants ... but as the text of these well illustrated volumes is in Khmer they are of very limited value to non-Khmer readers such as myself.

I expect some completely weird stuff too, to be part of the range of medecine available in the area. And beetween herbs, drugs, chemicals,fashion, superstitions & magic, that must be quite a long list of potentially successful "treatments" to ensure one's cure, in the average population's mind. Scary sometimes, but i assume also hopeful, if this culture of plants made it through the KR times of Cambodia.
