Superstitious Woman Tricked by Sorcerer who Raped her Daughter
Cambodia News (Kandal): A 35-year-old man, Yoeun Yeou, a sorcerer, was arrested for raping a 15-year-old girl on October 11, 2020, at his house, in Prek Touch village, Lek Dek district, Kandal.
Before the incident, the victim's mother named Mom Soun, 37 years old, went to see the local sorcerer to remove a black magic spell that she believed had been put on her. Then, the sorcerer told her to bring her daughter to his house, saying that otherwise, the black magic will be turned on her daughter. She believed what he told her, so she brought her daughter to the suspect's house.
The suspect told the girl to take off her shirt and wore the skirt only. Her mother had to sit 4.5 meters away, meditating face to the wall while this was going on.
The suspect touched the victim's private parts and he raped her. He threatened her not to scream, or otherwise, black magic will kill all her family, and it would be her fault. After that, the teenager didn't tell her mother what happened to her for a couple of days, until on October 13, 2020, at 11 am, the victim told her mother that she got raped by the sorcerer. She was scared, so she decided to confide in her mother.
The victim's mother took her daughter to file a complaint at the police station. After questioning the victim, the police criminal police collaborated with Prek Dach police to arrest the suspect for questioning and case preparation.

Lock the nonce up for life, why don't the authorities try to educate people that all this sorcery shite is just BS
Re: Superstitious Woman Tricked by Sorcerer who Raped her Daughter
The only difference between sorcery and religion is people's attitudes. We mock sorcery for being something related to Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings, but for some reason, religion is given more credence. It's all the same to me. And in much the same way that priests and vicars are well known for abusing their positions when it comes to raping children, it would appear sorcerers, similarly, are no different.
The authorities need to educate people that all beliefs that have no basis in reality yet people bizarrely allow to dominate their lives, are BS.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never allow the dumb ones to lead the pack.

In the west it would be a charismatic Christian pastor in the Midwest or southern US/Australia
The west has a terrible record wrt sorcery, the lat UK trial for witchery was relativity recent
