The DEA scans the passenger manifests of flights, then flags passport numbers of those with irregular itineraries such as holder of South African passport flying Brazil to Cambodia or Thailand or a Thai passport holder flying Peru to Dubai to Siem Reap and onward by land to Thailand. The flag or green notice is then disseminated to the NCB of the destination country.
