The best ROCK records ever

Post by popping in »

In the most competitive category, I believe that the 4 records below stand above any other rock records:

Jimi Hendrix – Voodoo Child (1969)

Rolling Stones – Miss you (1978)

Faith no more – Epic (1989)

Foo fighters – The Pretender (2007)

Below in no particular order are the runners up:

Beatles - While my guitar gently weeps (1968)

Led Zepplin – Kashmir (1977)

Fleetwood Mac - You make loving fun (1977)

Siouxsie and the Banchees – Hong Kong Garden (1981)

Iron Maiden - Run to the Hills (1982)

Iron Maiden - Hallowed by thy Name (1982)

Iron Maiden - Children of the Damned (1982)

Iron Maiden - Flight of Icarus (1983)

Bon Jovi - Living on a prayer (1985)

Queen - A Kind of Magic (1986)

Def Leppard – Animal (1987)

Heart - Alone (1987)

Stone Roses – Made of Stone (1989)

Allanah miles - Black velvet (1989)

Charlatans – Only one I know (1990)

Nirvana - Smells like teen spirit (1991)

Metallica - Enter Sandman (1991)

Bon Jovi - In these Arms (1992)

Wheezer - Buddy Holly (1994)

Foo Fighters - All my life (2002)

Killers – Somebody told me (2004)

The Killers – Mr Brightside(2004)

Stereophonics – Dakota (2005)

Kings of Leon – Sex is on fire(2008)

Black Keys - Lonely boy (2011)

Below are the runners up to the runners up:

Garbage - Stupid girl (1995)
Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger (2006)
Kings of leon – Use Somebody (2008)
Billy Idol - White Wedding (1982)
Rage against the machine - Killing in the name of (1992)
Bon Jovi – Keep the Faith (1992)
Def Leppard – Let’s get rocked (1992)
Def Leppard – Women (1987)
Chris Rea – Road to Hell (1989)
Sound Garden - Black Hole Sun (1994)
Rolling Stones - Jumping Jack flash (1968)

SHIT.

Enter Sandman and Children of the Damned should be in the top list not the runners up. Fucks' sake. I've had all bloody week to get that right.

Arguably Kashmir and maybe In These Arms as well. And maybe Alone. And Animal, and Living on a Prayer. Maybe Revelations. There's a lot of damn good records in that runners up list though.

I'll be honest, I do think Epic is the best rock record of all time and probably the best record of all time.

God how good would it be to be Jon Bon Jovi.

I've been thinking for years to put together a list of war, protest songs , one day I'll do it, and wouldn't need opinions on which one better than the other.

No Dylan
masters of war
Only a pawn in their game
or
Woody Guthrie
of which there are so many hard to pick the "best"
