Re: "Solo Drink Man", Australian MARK COUTELAS Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Kampot
UPDATE
Cambodia News, Kampot: Kampot Provincial Court yesterday [27 September 2020] charged an Australian man and his Cambodian girlfriend over alleged trafficking and drug use.
Deputy Chief of Kampot City police Major Duong Chamroeun identified the accused as Coutelas Mark Robert, 60, an Australian tourist and his Cambodian girlfriend as Tok Chhany, 35, both living in Kampong Bay village.
He said that they were arrested and charged on Friday with “drug use and trafficking” under Article 40 and 45 of the Law on Drug Control.
Maj Chamroeun told Khmer Times yesterday that Coutelas and Chhany were drug dealers, who sold drugs to foreign tourists in Kampot and Kep provinces.
He said police knew of their identities and posed as drug dealers in order to purchase drugs from the couple.
After they contacted Chhanny, she organised the sale of the drugs with Coutelas.
Police then raided their rental home in Kampong Bay commune, where they seized four packages
of methamphetamines weighing a total of 70 gramme, one package of dried marijuana weighing five grams, one scale and other drug related paraphernalia.
After their arrest, the couple both tested positive for drug use, he added.

Money talks mate.
There are many wonderful things about SE-Asia.
The justice system / policing is certainly not one of them.
In fact, it's so bad it has occasionally had me questioning whether or not I can possibly accept such an unethnical system, or whether I have no choice but to leave due to being unable to reconcile it with my values.
I'm sure i'm preaching to the choir on this...

I agree the banged up in Thailand 2 times blows me away.. with the short time he did .. but he good be a rat also and took others with himJohn Bingham wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 8:44 pmIt amazes me too. I would have thought that any of those offenses listed would lead to much heavier sentences. I don't understand why the authorities don't blacklist any foreigner convicted of a serious crime. Maybe it's not in the constitution?

I seem to recall in the height of the Solo ads popularity news going around that he was gay, at the time gay being a direct contrast to the buff all weather mans man I guess
looking at some of his "companions" it doesn't seem so
