I did not see any city buses operating. Is the service still suspended? When checking online I could not find recent news.

I haven't seen one since I came back (July).

Seems to be the case, the only buses I saw were those used for shuttling arrivals to the quarantine hotel.

Checked for news and found no articles later than June.

A pity.

Yeah I posted asking about the lack of buses a while back. Still not running, unfortunately.

As we know about maintenance in this beautiful country is non existent i would think that the buses that are parked up will just rot away.
the busses may not have been a money maker but the big brother supplied them so no cost to the magnificent government and only operating costs to find.
shame because they were utilised by the less affluent Khmer people as a cheap transport.

On Sunday I saw one of the blue, more modern buses running an errant on Norodom.

At least several of those were also providing shuttle services between airport and quarantine hotels.

It seems, the buses or at least some of them are put to good use.

Public transport is not necessarily meant to be a money maker. The contribution to the community is more important such affordable transport to the work place, school and university and a reduction of traffic. I am pretty sure we will see them again, hopefully sooner than later.
