Perth Streets 3.

The idea that seeing the world is going from place to place to look at obvious things is an illusion natural to dull minds.

Kung-fu Hillbilly what do you think of style, do you have one that you prefer any personally, or is it that of various styles are suited and open. I have been trying more for a type of style within editing that suits my own tastes, more art form then the actual photography, but still not there.

I shoot anything of interest but I'm grappling with the issue of style at the moment - or how to develop it. I'm attracted to light and shadow more than anything, but enjoy all forms of street photography which has made my instagram feed confusing for some apparently. Personally, I enjoy looking most at another photographer's work who conveys a distinct style or theme to their work which has found me curating my own stuff to a degree to offer the same. I'm heading out later today with the idea of shooting something specific in mind, this idea motivated for the first time by adhering to the style I'd like to develop.

Eiting for a look is now also an element of style which I have to addres as it obviously plays a huge part in the process - this area recently completely foreign to me. It starts in-camera now having to look more at protecting and exposing for highlights so they're not blown out, using back button focus etc

Sadly the majority of us mere mortals have to work hard at developing style as opposed to the gifted few who are blessed with a seemingly innate predisposition toward it.

Lots to learn, but lots of fun.
