Cambodia News, Kampong Thom: According to the General Consumer Protection, Competition and Anti-Fraud CCF, on September 12, 2020, officials of Kampong Thom Province, in cooperation with officials of the Provincial Department of Commerce and local authorities, carried out a food inspection at Thnal Bek Market, Stung Sen District, Stung Sen City, Kampong Thom Province.

During the inspection, experts conducted a preliminary analysis for banned chemicals on two stalls to find banned chemicals that could affect people's health. At the same time, professional officers inspected for non-compliance on the packaging of food products.

As a result, officials found 28 kilograms of shrimp containing jelly-like chemical substances. Experts then ordered the confiscation of the shrimp to be burned according to the procedure.

At the same time, the officials also advised other traders to understand and follow the law on quality control, safety of products and services, as well as the law on consumer protection, to avoid affecting the health of their customers.
