Covid Cases & deaths double in Burma

Post by phuketrichard »

Well, anyone that thinks they will be crossing borders this year, (I WAS hopeful) better think again
Bali closed till end of year
Malaysia closed till end of year
Thailand looking at allowing 300 Tourists/week into Phuket sometime later this year

and now in Burma
Since last Friday, total cases and deaths have both exactly doubled from 1,133 cases and seven deaths to 2,266 patients and 14 deaths. Cases have surged in Yangon - the regional government said there have been 656 instances of local transmission between August 24 and September 8. As expected, the nation's largest city has been mostly locked down, with the government also ordering a suspension of domestic travel. All but five of Yangon city's urban townships have been put under "stay at home" orders, meaning nobody is allowed to leave their homes except to buy groceries, seek medical care, or go to work.
Seems Trump was right, the more you test, the more people show they are infected.
They said on BBC this morning that over 65% of those recently tested positive in the UK, had NO SYMPTOMS>

How many had covid back Dec-March, yet just got sick and dealt with it?

This will be with us for a long time it seems

If they'd just stop testing people, then there'd be no new cases.

Problem solved.

Trump was always right. Just took a while for people to catch on.

add on Indonesia is set for a huge fall

Indonesia on verge of a deadly Covid disaster
Jakarta set for another debilitating lockdown as persistent coronavirus cases threaten to overwhelm hospitals
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has set off a political firestorm and triggered a sweeping reassessment of economic growth projections by ordering the virtual lockdown of Indonesia’s capital without first clearing the move with the central government.
Due to go into force on September 14, large-scale social restrictions are being re-imposed as new cases multiply by 1,000 a day – a third of the national total of about 3,000 cases a day– and the isolation bed occupancy rate in city hospitals nears 80%.

If you look at the current infection numbers in Europe (and the alarming growth rate) and the current hospitalisation rate, it looks like the numbers known in March were about 10% of the true numbers. December to March allowed it to get a firm hold and then all hell broke loose. I shows what a bunch of liars the Chinese authorities are. It was rampant there long before December.
