Cambodia News (Mondulkiri): 3 men have been captured in two arrests for trafficking wild meat in the restricted forest area in Mondulkiri, and two men escaped.

On September 5, 2020, at 3:40 pm, the conservation team in Ourovak shelter went on patrol and saw three men on two motorbikes, carrying three big bags. The conservation team stopped the three men for questioning, but two of the suspects ran away to escape. The other suspect named Pruth Kadul, 29 years old, who was taken into custody with evidence such as two motorbikes and 76kgs of banteng meat, was sent to the Ministry of the Environment for questioning.

On September 6, 2020, the workers of WWF went on patrol and arrested two teenage suspects on a motorbike. The suspects confessed that they came to check on their wildlife traps. The police asked the suspects to remove all the 22 traps and sent them to a Memong officer for questioning. The two suspects were identified as Chea Nheak, 19 years old, and Pen Thou, 15 years old. The police confiscated 22 traps and a motorbike.
