Cambodia News, Banteay Meanchey: On August 28, 2020, a woman filed a complaint with the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Gendarmerie to arrest her husband because she can no longer stand her husband who lacks responsibility as the head of the family, constantly uses drugs, and often acts violently against his family . After interrogation by the Armed Forces, the case was sent to the provincial court on charges of intentional violence.

Colonel Thuong Veasna, director of the Anti-Human Trafficking Office, said that on August 28, 2020, the victim's wife filed a lawsuit against Prum Bun Ho, her husband, who was a regular drug consumer. On August 27, 2020, he used violence against his wife, beating and kicking her several times. She said that she could not endure his violence anymore, so she decided to file a complaint to the authorities to arrest Prum Bun Ho, her husband, following the legal procedure.

At 11:58 am on August 28, 2020 the suspect was sent to the Provincial Gendarmerie Command to be interrogated in front of the police, where he confessed that although he and his wife had been together for more than 10 years and had three children, he was a habitual drug user, and he was often violent and beat his wife. The provincial military police is building a case of intentional violence committed by the federation and sent to the provincial court for legal action.
