Big Drug Crackdown in Sihanoukville with Multiple Foreigners Arrested

Cambodia News (Sihanoukville): Sihanoukville Royal Gendarmerie cracked down drug trafficking and arrested ten foreign nationals for drug trafficking in Sihanoukville. The foreigners were of Indonesian and Chinese nationality. Lieutenant Heng Bunti reported that:

Case 1: On August 25, 2020, the Royal Gendarmerie led by lieutenant Long Kimhour, director of anti-drug department cracked down drug trafficking and arrested four suspects at Soukea guesthouse in Sangkat 2, Sihanoukville. The suspects were identified as BUDI GUNAWAN, a 25-year-old Indonesian man, AGU STIANTO, a 22-year-old Indonesian man, ROBERT BONGSOWIJAYA, a 24-year-old Indonesian man, and Lay Sokkim, a 21-year-old Cambodian woman, a KTV worker.
The royal gendarmerie confiscated four packets of the drug, two packs of white powder, one pink pill, 14 packs of powder, nine bottles of yellow liquid, a scale, some drug equipment, two passports, 2 ID cards, a motorbike, money for 70 USD, three phones, and an ATM card.

Case 2: On August 26, 2020, at 06 pm, a 30-year-old Chinese man, Kao Kuling, was arrested in Sangkat 1, Sihanoukville. The evidence, such as two packs of dried marijuana, two smoking pipes, a phone, and a scale, were confiscated.

Case 3: On August 27, 2020, at 02:45 pm, five suspects were arrested. They were identified as Ting Soaphy, a 30-year-old Chinese man, Song Jongling, a 28-year-old Chinese man, Leav Langsorch, a 29-year-old Chinese man, Kong Khun, a 23-year-old Chiense man, and Leav Yangming, a 30-year-old Chinese man. The evidence, such as 16 packs of white powder, two passports, four phones, a scale, money for 300 USD, and a lamp, were confiscated.

The specialist officers are preparing the cases to be submitted to Sihanoukville court.
