Cambodia News, Battambang Province: On August 17, 2020, a man was found dead in a rice field located in Otanob village, Sangkat Kdol Daun Teav, Battambang city.

The deceased is a farm worker named Doeun Samnang (Sam), male, 41 years old. According to the explanation of Oeun Sam Ath (wife of the deceased), 39 years old, on August 16, 2020, at 8:30 PM, her husband left the house to catch fish with an electric shock device.


On the morning of August 17, 2020, when the wife saw that her husband had not returned home, she called her children and two or three siblings to help her search for him. At about 12:20 pm that day, the children found their father lying dead on his back in a rice field near Borey Raksmey, Battambang, with both hands holding a fishing tackle.

Experts and doctors confirmed that the victim died of electrocution from a device that he was using to shock fish. The body was handed over to his wife, Oeun Sam Ath, for a traditional ceremony. RIP.
