69 cases in 2 days! Are Chinese stowaways carriers of the virus?
According to the Website of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, as of 1800 hours on August 5, there were 69 new confirmed cases and 2 deaths in Vietnam in the past 48 hours, including 57 new cases and 2 deaths in Da Nang city. Five new cases were reported in Quang Nam Province. One new case in Dong Nai Province; Four new cases are reported in Lạng Sơn province. Two new cases were reported in Bac Giang Province. All were covid-19 associated cases in Da Nang.On 4 August, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam chaired a meeting of the national CoVID-19 Prevention and Control Steering Committee. He said that the outbreak in Da Nang was almost certainly started in early July, and genetic analysis confirmed that the latest virus was an imported virus. Are Chinese stowaways’ carriers of the virus?Since the outbreak of the epidemic, there has been a lot of speculation about "covid-19 brought by a Chinese stowaway into Vietnam". But is it true? Judging from the official news so far, this speculation is largely unfounded. I say this for several reasons: First, of the Chinese stowaways who have been caught, not a single person has been diagnosed with COVID-19. These stowaways will definitely be tested. So far, there has been no news that any stowaways have coVID-19 patients.Second, in the recent arrests of stowaways, most of them are actually Chinese working abroad. There are also foreigners who were in Vietnam before the outbreak of the epidemic, whose visas expired but were not renewed, resulting in illegal residence, but who are reported in the news as "illegal entry".Third, the Chinese who sneak into Vietnam are mostly from Guangxi or Yunnan. People in these two provinces have one of the lowest infection rates in China, with virtually no new confirmed cases since April. In Yunnan, more people are poisoned from eating mushrooms than from novel Coronavirus.Where did the virus come from?Since July 1, Vietnam has been open to entry. The United States, Italy, Finland, France and other countries and regions that allow their citizens to use electronic visas for entry and exit include the United States, Italy, Finland, France, etc. Many people entered Vietnam in July despite occupational restrictions. Before the outbreak started again in Da Nang, according to reports from VNEXPRESS and the publication of the "Vietnam Travel" group, the Beach, famous resorts and airport in Da Nang city were full of people, who seemed completely untroubled by the epidemic. See the following pictures: It is not hard to imagine that this outbreak, or the tourists' negligence, eventually led to this series of events and led to social unrest in Vietnam. As more and more confirmed cases appear, I only hope that Vietnam can bring the epidemic under control as soon as possible, so that everyone can be safe and prosperous again as soon as possible.

How many people are walking around asymptomatic? What is the accuracy level of the tests being performed? (Hint: it’s less than 100%). Point being, there’s lots of ways people positive with CV19 can slip through the cracks. Until there’s a vaccine, there will be flare ups in every country.
