There has been a change of plans.
July 24, 2020
Ministry delays exit exams due to holiday overlap
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports spokesman Ros Soveacha has announced the date of high school exit exams for private institutions will be delayed by 10 days in order not to clash with the reallocated Khmer New Year holidays, due on the same date.
According to a previous announcement made by the minstry on July 14, grade 12 students exit exams would take place on August 17 and 18.
However, the planned examination dates now overlaps with the substitute Khmer New Year holidays, set between August 17 and 21.
“Therefore, the ministry has decided to move private institute exit exams for students to August 27,” Soveacha said.

SOP released ahead of Phase One school reopening
The Ministry of Education yesterday issued the official standard operating procedure (SOP) for the anticipated reopening of select schools in the Kingdom to ensure the safety of students amid the pandemic.
The regulations mandate the rigorous cleaning and disinfection of facilities ahead of the reopening, including libraries, washrooms, laboratories, classrooms and playgrounds, as well as keeping room temperature to no lower than 24 degrees Celsius.
Doors and windows must also be kept open for proper ventilation and tables must be kept two metres apart, with classroom capacity limited to between 20 and 25 students.
Morning assemblies must also be held in small groups while the lending of library books from one student to another and holding of other events or gatherings, sports-related or otherwise, will be suspended.
Temperature checks will be employed in school entrances, with anyone registering temperature higher than 37.5 degrees Celsius sent home or to the hospital for an immediate check-up.
Students and staff who have recently come back from overseas will also be allowed to take leave while they undergo the mandatory quarantine. Others are likewise prohibited from travelling to mitigate risks of contracting the virus.

Cambodia removes COVID-19 testing requirement for some schools
The Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) has confirmed that several schools will no longer require their staff and students to conduct COVID-19 tests when they are allowed to reopen this month.
VNA Tuesday, August 04, 2020 16:40
Phnom Penh (VNA) – The Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) has confirmed that several schools will no longer require their staff and students to conduct COVID-19 tests when they are allowed to reopen this month.
The Khmer Times quoted the MoEYS spokesman Ros Soveachea said the ministry and the Ministry of Health agreed that if students, their parents, or staff members of 20 education institutions in the first phase of school re-opening returned from an oversea trip before early June, or have not travelled outside of Cambodia, they do not need to undergo COVID-19 tests.
This proposal was approved by Prime Minister HE.
However, the MoEYS has yet to confirm which 20 schools will be opened in the coming days, despite many staff already returning to campuses and the schools’ names widely circulated online.

Re: Private Schools Request Permission to Reopen
There is absolutely no mechanism in place, or thought of, to determine and document those things. More bullshit knee jerk reactions just to appeal to the masses and start putting money in the Okhna's pockets who own those schools.CEOCambodiaNews wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 7:29 pm Cambodia removes COVID-19 testing requirement for some schools

Re: Private Schools Request Permission to Reopen
My school is one of the 20 given permission to open. When teachers returned to work last week from our annual holidays, we were shocked when the owner/principal told us we wouldn't be reopening yet, despite being given permission. She said that only 4 of the 20 schools signed an agreement to follow the guidelines set at the meeting and one later reneged.
The others found the conditions impossible to comply with. They objected to the testing requirements, but there were others as well. The main one was that all staff and students had to supply a daily record of their movements and contacts outside of school hours and students' parents had to do the same. As I understand it, negotiations have been ongoing, so I guess this is the first stage of a compromise acceptable to the schools.
