Cambodia News (Preah Vihear): On August 1, 2020, two men were arrested for smuggling 200kgs of drugs from Lao to Cambodia in Srolao village, Cheb district, Preah Vihear.
The police report that, following information received, they started an anti-drug operation on July 26, 2020, which was coordinated by the prosecutors of Preah Vihear Court, Phnom Penh court and Kampong Speu court following the order of General Lieutenant Neth Savoeun, National police chief.
The police detained the two suspects, who have not yet been named, and confiscated 201 packets of methamphetamine packaged as Chinese tea weighing a total of 200 kg.

This you could say is a "biggie". That of a significant drug bust, now one question, who would have this kind of funding to buy and move this lot around.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

*This story appears to be the same case as one published on July 28, when it was reported that court sources reported a Chinese man named QIANG LIANG, and a Cambodian were sent to pre-trial detention for a drug smuggling operation of 200 kg of methamphetamine from Myanmar to Laos and into Cambodia. At the time this was not reported in the main Khmer media news.

Four indicted after drug busts see massive 400kg meth haul
Courts over the weekend indicted four men who were arrested late July following major crackdowns conducted by authorities on two separate drug trafficking rings that saw the seizure of approximately 400 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine.
The substances were slated to be distributed to users in the capital.
Two men were charged and detained yesterday by the Preah Vihear Provincial Court over allegations of trafficking 200 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine via the province’s Cambodian-Lao border.
Lieutenant Colonel Nuon Vichetr, deputy chief of the provincial anti-drug trafficking department, identified the accused as Sim Ra, 28 and drug convict Liv Seu, 47.
The pair was charged with “act of keeping, transporting and illicit traffic of narcotic substances” under Article 40 of the Law on Drug Control, which carries a sentence of life in prison.
According to police records, Ra was arrested on July 26, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior’s Anti-Drug Department, near the border in Chhep district’s Kampong Sralao commune.
He was apprehended after being caught carrying drugs, allegedly smuggled on a boat from Laos to Cambodia and transported by land on his motorbike.
“Ra was caught red-handed while he was attempting to transport the drugs for distribution in the capital,” said Lt Col Vichetr.
“Police seized 201 big packets of crystal metham-phetamine, weighing a total of 200 kilogrammes, a mobile phone and a motorbike from him,” he added.
Through information extracted from Ra during his interrogation, police on Saturday identified and arrested Seu, a convict jailed in Phnom Penh’s Prey Sar prison, as the leader of the drug trafficking ring.

Re: Massive Chinese Tea Drug Haul: 200Kgs of Meth Seized
There have been a lot of large drug busts recently, so it's easy to get confused, but it seems that your information above is incorrect, and that the two 200kgs drug hauls are separate cases.Andy S Tawatin wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2020 7:47 pm *This story appears to be the same case as one published on July 28, when it was reported that court sources reported a Chinese man named QIANG LIANG, and a Cambodian were sent to pre-trial detention for a drug smuggling operation of 200 kg of methamphetamine from Myanmar to Laos and into Cambodia. However, the Taiwanese man, QIANG LIANG, is said to belong to the Chinese-Taiwanese drug manufacturing and smuggling gang that was arrested in Phnom Penh in June.
