Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: A young woman posted on Facebook while drunk, making friends suspect that she was suffering from a sort of mental crisis and they were worried about her. A short time later, she was found dead in her room by her friends, behind Vitmin Market in Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh,at 9 pm on July 31, 2020.

The victim, Srey Leak, around 20 years old, was living alone and selling palm juice for a living. According to information from a woman named Toch Chanthan, who was a friend and lived near the victim's rented room, on the morning of the incident, a man who was the victim's ex-husband was seen visiting the victim's room and there was a big argument. The man then disappeared.

Later on, the same woman saw on her Facebook page that Srey Leak was upset and incoherant and seemed to be drunk. She then went to the woman's room to comfort her because she was so upset, but when she got to the room she found the door unlocked. She saw that her friend was dead and called her neighbors for help.

After the shock, the landlord contacted the police to intervene immediately. An autopsy confirmed that the victim really ended her life by hanging herself.

After the incident, the body of the woman was taken by the police to Wat Teuk Thla to wait. Relatives come to accept the traditional funeral rites. RIP, so young to die.
