7 Makara Police Detain Suspect for Stealing License Plate

Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: Khan 7 Makara Police Inspectorate arrested a suspect for stealing car license plates on July 31, 2020 at 05:30 at Street 217, Sangkat Or Russey 4, Khan 7 Makara.

Suspect's name is Pheng Heng, male, 36 years old, ethnic Khmer, unspecified occupation, address is 101E2, Street 182, Sangkat Orussey 2, Khan 7 Makara.

Victim name: Sar Leakena, female, 30 years old, Khmer, at house No. 7Eo, Street 125, Sangkat Boeung Prolit, Khan Khan 7 Makara, Occupation: Factory worker.

According to the report of the police, on July 26, at 3:15 the victim left her car parked in front of her house No. 7Eo, Street 125, in Khan 7 Makara.
According to the CCTV camera, the suspect was alone, walking past the Hilander car, when he quickly and quietly pulled out a screwdriver, unscrewed the license plate and escaped.
In the morning, the victim came down and checked the car, and saw the license plate was missing. She then checked the security camera and saw the thief in action, so she took a photo of him to the police and filed a complaint.

After receiving the complaint, the police also checked the photos and realized that they knew the suspect who is a known drug user. So, on July 31, 2020, the police saw the suspect riding a motorcycle at Street 217 In Orussey 4 commune, and they took him for questioning at the Boeung Prolit police station.

The suspect is currently being held at the 7 Makara district police to build a case for legal proceedings.
