Kep and Kampot will be Smoke-Free by 2022

Kep and Kampot Ready as Smoke-Free Tourist Destinations by End of 2021
AKP Phnom Penh, July 31, 2020 –

Kep and Kampot cities have demonstrated their readiness to become smoke-free tourist provinces by the end of 2021.

The good news followed recent meetings to review the readiness of the two provinces by competent officials from concerned ministries and provincial administrations.

H.E. Hor Sarun, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Tourism, expressed his appreciation of the progress and was positive that the two provinces will become smoke-free tourist destinations by the end of 2021.

However, there is more work for the two provincial authorities to carry on in order to achieve the goal and the journey will need support from all concerned stakeholders.

Achieving smoke-free objectives is among the targets of the Royal Government of Cambodia as well as the Ministries of Tourism and Health, not only to ensure good health in tourism but also to foster sustainable tourism and economic development.

Bad timing, you really don't want to alienate smokers at the moment when business is dwindling.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Are they suggesting they ban cigarettes, then people breathe the smoke which comes from burning off rubbish?

To become smoke free, they need garbage collection in the entire province. Then compulsory payment of garbage collection fees. Then make it compulsory for everyone to have a garbage bin. Then have fines for anyone burning off rubbish.
## I thought I knew all the answers, but they changed all the questions. ##
