Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On July 30, 2020, at 10 am, a 45 year old Turkish man, ERGUN SERDAR, went to the Department of investigation and procedure of the General Department of immigation, asking for help to send him back to his country. He overstayed for 7 years because he didn't have money to renew his visa.

The Turkish man came to Cambodia frequently, and the last time was in 2013 through the Poipet border. He opened a Turkish bread shop in Sihanoukville.

ERGUN SERDAR has been jailed twice during his time in Cambodia, but strangely, was never deported. The first time was on March 1, 2015, ( sentenced to 1 year and 6 months) over the charge of attacking an Israeli man in Sihanoukville, and the second time was on January 26, 2017, (also sentenced to 1 year and 6 months) on a charge of attacking Russian man, also in Sihanoukville.
